Privacy, confidentiality and responsible document handling.
This page explains the principles SIRC applies to personal information, unpublished manuscripts and research materials. It should be aligned with actual operating practices and applicable law before public deployment.
Research Material Confidentiality
Manuscripts and research materials submitted for review are treated as confidential academic materials and are accessed only for the purpose of providing the requested review service. SIRC does not treat unpublished scholarly material as public content.
Personal Information
Contact details and enquiry information should be collected only to communicate with users, provide requested services, manage institutional arrangements and maintain necessary service records. Personal information should not be used for unrelated purposes.
Document Handling
Documents should be handled only through the review workflow required for the agreed service. Access should be limited to personnel or systems necessary to complete the requested review. Where third-party screening systems are used, document handling is also subject to the applicable terms and data practices of those systems.
Data Retention
Research files and related records should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to complete the requested service, resolve operational issues, meet contractual obligations or comply with applicable law. Retention periods should be documented internally and reviewed regularly.
Third-Party Review Systems
SIRC may use appropriately licensed third-party systems where required for originality or related review functions. Use of those systems does not imply official partnership, reseller status or endorsement unless a formal written agreement exists.
Website Forms
This static website does not upload files to a server. The review-request and contact forms prepare an email in the visitor's local email application. Selected files remain on the visitor's device until they are manually attached and sent.
Privacy Requests
